The Great Imposters
The assignment: Pick a favorite artist, research his/her work, his lifestyle and the area he lived (lives) in, then do a painting in the "style" of the artist.
Students dressed up in costume representing what the artist would have worn then presented themselves as the artist speaking in first person to tell a little bit about the artist, their lifestyle and their motivation for their works. Students presented some examples of the artists original work then presented theirs as if it were a current work of the artists.
